Free Replacement Car Conditions in Case of an Insurance Claim

Conditions

If the accident was caused by another car or you have comprehensive insurance (covering a replacement car), you are entitled to a replacement car free of charge.

A replacement car will not be provided if:

  • 1. It is a hobby vehicle – it is not considered necessary or useful.
  • 2. The person has multiple vehicles – the damaged car can be replaced with another one they own.
  • 3. The family has multiple cars – movements can be arranged using another family car, even if it causes inconvenience.
  • 4. The vehicle was not used for work or business – alternative transportation or another car can be used.
  • 5. The car is seasonal or not used daily – if it would not have been used during the repair anyway (e.g., summer car, Christmas period work car, car only used on weekdays).

How the Rental Process Works

  1. You must first agree on the start time of the repair with the repair shop and then contact us.
  2. Notify the name of the insurance company that is performing your vehicle repair.
  3. Provide your vehicle registration number (for comprehensive insurance cases) and the at-fault vehicle registration number (for traffic insurance cases).
  4. We will book a rental car for the repair period.
  5. We will contact the insurance company ourselves and coordinate the payment of the rental.
  6. When receiving the car, you need to present your driving license, based on which we will prepare the rental agreement.

Sample answers to questions that need to be submitted to the insurance provider

  • 1. Please explain as thoroughly as possible the necessity/usefulness of the damaged vehicle for you. For example, what purposes, for what trips, and how often did you use the car?

I use this car to commute to work, as my workplace is located in Rapla. Remote work is not possible. I drive to work every day (the traffic accident also occurred on the way home from work).

  • 2. If necessary, by reasonably reorganizing your movements, is it possible for you to make essential trips using another vehicle (e.g., a friend's or a family/household member's car)?

None of my acquaintances travel on this route, and this is the only vehicle for our family/household.

  • 3. Please describe existing public transport connections.

Public transport to Rapla is not frequent enough.

  • 4. What are the possibilities to use public transport for your necessary trips during the repair period?

Public transport to Põlva does not match my required schedule, especially in the evenings.

  • 5. Do you have multiple vehicles, and is it possible to replace the damaged vehicle with another existing car?

    No.

  • 6. Please explain the use of the vehicle for economic or professional purposes or work for reasons comparable to those mentioned above.

I do not use the vehicle directly for business purposes; it is occasionally needed for work-related trips.

Why Choose Kristiine Autorent?

  • Our cars are clean, well-maintained, and have a full fuel tank.
  • You do not need to return the car clean; cleaning service is included in the price.

  • For B and C group cars, we cover 15% of the rental price, which according to law is the renter’s own liability in case of a traffic insurance claim.
